Short version: we collect the least we can get away with. There are no accounts, no advertising, no trackers, and nothing here is sold or shared. This page explains exactly what happens to the little we do collect.
Buck It Or Love It Radio is an independent internet radio station operating from Port St. Lucie, Florida, at buckitorloveit.com. Questions about anything on this page go to buckitorloveitradio@gmail.com.
We store what you send us: your artist name, track title, the link, your email, and — if you upload one — the audio file itself. We also send ourselves a copy by email so we can review it and reply to you.
The file is used for one thing: listening to your record and, if it airs, putting it into rotation. If we pass on it, we delete the file. If we play it, it becomes part of the station library and stays in the credits.
Your email address is used to reply to you about your submission. Submitting a track does not put you on the merch list — that is separate, and opt-in only. We do not sell, rent, or share it.
The showcase page has one optional signup for the merch drop. It is separate from music submissions, and you only join it by typing your address in and pressing the button. We store the address on our own server and use it for one thing: telling you when the merch is out. We do not sell, rent, or share it, and every email we send has an unsubscribe link. Ask us to remove you and we will, same day.
We keep submissions so we can remember what we have already heard and who we have already featured. Ask us to delete yours and we will.
Voting requires no account and no personal information. Two things get recorded:
We record which song was playing and which side you picked. That is all a vote is.
Playing the stream connects your device to our server, which means your IP address passes through it the same way it does with any website — that is simply how a connection works. Our broadcast software uses this to count how many people are listening and roughly which regions they are in. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we block bots and crawlers so those numbers stay honest.
Our web server keeps standard access logs — the page requested, the time, the browser type, and the connecting address — which exist for security and for fixing things when they break. They are not used for marketing and are not combined with anything else.
Two companies are involved because we use their services to run the station: our server host, which stores the data physically, and Google, because submission notifications arrive in a Gmail inbox. Neither is given your information for their own use.
Links to SoundCloud, YouTube, Dropbox and similar sites are just links. Once you follow one, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours.
Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. No forms and no hoops — it is one person reading the inbox. You can clear your browser data at any time to remove the voting ID, and you can listen without submitting anything or voting at all.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site rather than slipped in quietly.
